Helping Viet Nam Live Longer, Healthier Lives

Healthy Longevity Vietnam is a VietnamWellcare initiative created to advance a broader, evidence-informed approach to longevity in Viet Nam.

Rather than focusing on lifespan alone, we focus on the conditions that help people maintain health, function, participation, and well-being across the life course.

Why It Matters

Longer Life Should Mean Better Health

Living longer is one of the great achievements of modern society. The challenge is ensuring that additional years of life are lived with the health, function, support, and opportunities people need to continue doing what matters to them.

Healthy longevity therefore extends beyond healthcare alone. It connects prevention, healthy aging, science, technology, social and environmental conditions, and the systems that influence health throughout life.

For Viet Nam, rapid demographic and epidemiological change creates an important opportunity to act earlier, strengthen prevention, and develop approaches that reflect the country’s population, culture, health needs, and changing society.

Our Direction

A Healthier Future Across the Life Course

Our Vision

A Viet Nam where longer lives are accompanied by better health, function, participation, purpose, and quality of life.

Our Mission

To advance healthy longevity in Viet Nam by connecting credible evidence, capability building, research, and cross-sector collaboration, while supporting responsible adaptation and implementation of global knowledge in the Vietnamese context.

We aim to help translate global knowledge into approaches that are relevant to the Vietnamese context while contributing perspectives and learning from Viet Nam to the wider healthy longevity community.

Our Approach

Evidence-Informed. Life-Course. Context-Aware.

Evidence-Informed

We prioritize credible scientific evidence and responsible interpretation, while distinguishing established knowledge from emerging research.

Life-Course & Function-Focused

Healthy longevity begins long before old age. We consider how health, functional capacity, resilience, and well-being are shaped throughout life.

Context-Appropriate & Equity-Aware

Global evidence must be considered alongside Vietnamese population needs, culture, health systems, resources, environments, and differences in access and opportunity.

Multidisciplinary & Collaborative

Healthy longevity requires perspectives from medicine, public health, healthy aging, geroscience, behavioral and social sciences, technology, health systems, communities, and other relevant sectors.
